What makes DMH Wellness different from a regular spa?
DMH Wellness is a clinical therapeutic practice, not a spa. While we place great importance on environment and experience, every service we offer is grounded in evidence-based bodywork with measurable therapeutic outcomes. Our practitioners hold advanced certifications and treat each session as a clinical encounter designed around your specific physiological needs — not a standardized menu treatment.
Do I need to have a specific condition or injury to book?
Not at all. Many of our clients come to us for maintenance, performance optimization, stress management, or simply because they value the way exceptional therapeutic bodywork makes them feel. You do not need to be in pain or recovering from an injury to benefit from our services.
How do I know which service is right for me?
If you are unsure, we recommend starting with a consultation or contacting us directly at contact@dmhwellness.com. We will ask a few questions about your goals and history and suggest the most appropriate starting point. For most new clients without a specific condition, The Executive Reset or a 60-minute Deep Tissue Intensive is an excellent introduction.
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first session will begin with a brief but thorough intake consultation — we will ask about your health history, current concerns, and goals. This takes approximately 10 minutes and is included within your appointment time. Your therapist will then design your session accordingly. What should I wear, and how should I prepare?
For most massage services, you will undress to your level of comfort and be professionally draped throughout the session — only the area being worked on will be uncovered at any time. For craniosacral therapy, sessions are performed fully clothed; please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Avoid heavy meals immediately before your appointment. Hydrate well before and after.
Are your therapists Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs)?
Yes. All DMH Wellness practitioners are Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) regulated by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO), or hold equivalent advanced certifications in their specialty modalities. Our sessions may be eligible for insurance reimbursement under extended health benefits plans that include RMT coverage — check with your provider.
Can I claim my session under my health benefits?
In many cases, yes. If your extended health benefits plan includes coverage for Registered Massage Therapy, sessions performed by our RMTs are typically eligible. We provide receipts with the necessary practitioner information for submission. We do not direct-bill at this time — payment is due at time of service, and you submit the receipt to your insurer for reimbursement.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require a minimum of 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or no-shows, will be charged the full session fee. We understand that genuine emergencies occur — please contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate you.
How do Inner Circle memberships work?
Inner Circle memberships are monthly recurring memberships that include a set number of sessions, priority booking privileges, and exclusive discounts. Memberships auto-renew each month and can be cancelled with 30 days' written notice. Unused sessions within a billing period do not roll over to the following month. Membership benefits are non-transferable and available to the primary account holder only. Full details are available on our Memberships page.
Do gift cards expire?
No. DMH Wellness gift cards have no expiry date. They are valid for all services and memberships and can be used in any combination. Digital gift cards are delivered by email within minutes of purchase. For custom denominations or premium printed gift cards delivered by mail, please contact us.
